Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett announced plans Wednesday to file an anti-trust lawsuit against the NCAA over its sanctions against Penn State University following the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal. Last July, the NCAA levied unprecedented sanctions against the university, including a fine of $60 million. It also stripped 14 seasons of football victories from late head coach Joe Paterno.

A 41-year-old man entered St. James Catholic Church naked on Wednesday afternoon and was arrested, police said. A person who called police at 1:45 p.m. said the man, identified as Gary Pohronezny of Brooklyn, disrobed and then entered the church, at 120 Water St., in the Danielson section of town. He caused a disturbance in front of parishioners and students from the St. James. School next door, state police said.

A Portland man filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the United Methodist Church, claiming that he was raped by a Eugene pastor in the 1980s. A Portland firm filed the case against the First United Methodist Church of Eugene on Wednesday, issuing a press release on behalf of the man.

The 9th Ward had a terrible experience this past weekend. The police say a man was found shot to death outside of a church in the on Sunday morning. The New Orleans Police Department said the man's lifeless body was found inside of a blue Chevy Malibu near the 3200 block of Pleasure Street, in front of the Greater Carver Missionary Baptist church.
