On August 20, 2011, the Orlando Sentinel reported on Zachery Tims funeral and the eulogy delivered by TV evangelist, pastor and leader T.D. Jakes. After the service, he released a statement on his official Facebook that requested prayer for Tims’ family.

Bishop T. D. Jakes and his wife First Lady Serita Jakes live as though they are celebrities and God is against idol worship and those who honor them. The status of being a celebrity preacher and they pride as a celebrity pastor's wife has gone on for too long and God is not pleased. It is time to break the cycle of celebrities being the focus and center of attention among the body of Christ.
