The body of Sherman Hemsley, famous for his role as television’s “George Jefferson,” is still at an El Paso funeral home and it is embalmed. His body is said to be kept in refrigeration there until a local court rules on the validity of his will.

According to his medical report, his cause of death was due to “superior vena cava syndrome”. Superior Vena Cava Syndrome is a the medical terminology which means he died of complications stemming from a mass on one of Hemsley’s lungs. Moreover, the illness is triggered by an obstruction that causes a narrowing or blockage of the second largest vein in the body.
