Regina Belle has always been a great singer from the late 1980's that many of us remember. She had one of those signature voices that kept love songs and good R&B music alive. Recently, she has announced that she will be releasing an inspirational album which would be her 2nd one so far. We can appreciate her calling it 'inspirational' and not 'gospel' music.
We here at AT2W wanted to address our readers about why we have started to write so much about Black women and what we are saying. We realize that most of our regular readers know that we discuss the truth in all we do here at AT2W. We have found this necessary to really provide you with some substance in your daily reading of blogs and news sites because there are plenty of sites that dish out fluff and stuff. We never wanted to be that kind of blog.
We knew this would happen at any time. Many fathers who neglected to pay child support over the years, will not receive their government issued checks which is starting very soon. It's unfortunate that the government has to do this to those who need the money the most, but there are babies out there that are grown that never received support when the needed it.
This is truly become a really big mess. We did not cover the story on Whitney Houston and the alleged funeral home casket photo with her in it. We really thought the photo could have been photo-shopped so we left the story alone. Well, now that Whitney Houston's mother is apparently going to the authorities to seek an investigation who leaked the photos, we shall give you the latest on the story.
Though the cause of death has been listed as "deferred" pending toxicology test reports, the inquiry is apparently nearing completion, and "nothing suspicious" has been turned up regarding Houston's physicians, or any other persons of interest related to the case.

John Allan Miller is a 47 year old Australian native who claims to be Jesus. He even goes so far as to say that he remembers the crucifixion and that Mary Magdalene was his wife. Miller’s false teaching has gotten him quite a following with over 100,000 of his DVD’s in circulation. One might ask how seemingly sane, intelligent people would fall for such a thing. We have to look no further than the Bible to get the answer. The Word of God warns us about false teachers and people claiming to be Christ.
We wanted to state that we were really broken up about Whitney Houston's passing. We learned quite a bit about her upbringing and how the church and others influenced her. We did not know she claimed such a great collaboration of gospel and church leaders as an anchor for her. But we are concerned about this so called 'spiritual influence'.

The New Beginnings Baptist on Chicago's South Side received a huge donation from producer Tyler Perry. It all happened when the church wanted to tear down an abandoned motel across the street that was an eye sour to the church and the community. The only way to get rid of the now popular hangout for drug users, prostitutes and the like, would be to buy the property. Pastor Corey Brooks of New Beginnings Baptist Church actually put up a tent on the roof of the old motel back in November. He literally moved in and stayed up there until the could raise the money to buy it. Even though he thought it would take 21 days to raise $450,000, it took much longer at a 95 day journey.
When we see the facts in this case now, we know that we can't make excuses for bad behavior. Oscar Grant did not have a criminal record and was not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately for his cousin Tony Jones, he does have a criminal record and was fleeing from a car while carrying a gun. We can't deny the fact that he was doing wrong. All the protesting and marching can't change that fact that when you are caught doing wrong, you may face more severe consequences at that point.
Well, it appears that the fate of some Atlanta School teachers and educators will come soon. Many of them will face the consequences for participating in one of the nation's largest cheating scandals. Let's find out exactly what many of them who have evidence against them will have to face from the grand jury:

A 13-year-old boy who admitted raping a 5-year-old girl at a McDonald's play area in southwest Ohio has been sentenced to an inpatient treatment facility for at least six months. As for the victim, we are praying for her to receive all of the support and love she will need to get through this because the memory of a rape stays with you for a lifetime. Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick To Face New Federal Charges For Corruption and Racketeering

Kwame Kilpatrick faces brand new federal charges in the explosive corruption and racketeering case that has dogged the former Mayor of Detroit for the past four years since being formally charged with obstruction of justice, perjury and misconduct while in office. The latest reports state that Kilpatrick and a contractor pal shook down a city towing contractor to the tune of $90,000.
Bobby Ferguson, a close friend of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, was charged with seven counts of money laundering, according to a superseding indictment filed in U.S. District Court back in November.
This latest indictment follows a long list of charges against Kilpatrick, his father Bernard, other family members and even those from his former administration. With the prosecutors naming the group a criminal enterprise, the charges levied upon the so-called “Kilpatrick Enterprise” include racketeering, extortion, bribery, tax evasion and fraud.
Kwame Kilpatrick is due in court on September 6 this year.
The charges are related to Ferguson’s alleged attempts to conceal $1.7 million in extorted payments that he received for no-show work from a contractor. The indictment also offered a new, stunning allegation that Kilpatrick pocketed a $10,000 kickback in a restroom. Source
The charges were leveled in a federal lawsuit filed by Crouch granddaughter Brittany Koper (far left) against her former lawyers, who also do legal work for Trinity. One of those lawyers said her charges were "outright fiction and wholly without merit." On Thursday, Feb. 9 -- the same day that our story ran online -- Paul Crouch and his son, Matt, were having a live chat on TBN's "Behind the Scenes." We know that over a year ago, author Terry McMillan was trying to get the original cast together from her 1990's book to movie 'Waiting To Exhale' to do her sequel, 'Getting To Happy'. The last report we made was that every cast member had confirmed they would work on the sequel except Whitney Houston. Those cast members would be: Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, and Lela Rochon.
